Editorial to the special issue on Quality of Life and Family Quality of Life in the Journal of Intellectual & Developmental Disability. This special issue of the JIDD is the first part of two special issues on Quality of Life and Family Quality of Life. The second part is a special issue on Quality of Life in the Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities. The two issues are complementary and together give a broad overview of both developments and challenges in the field of quality of life and family quality of life.
